There were many moments that touched my heart and gave me opportunity to think about what I was watching. One that stood out was near the end of the movie (if you haven't seen the movie, stop reading now, as I don't want to spoil it for you), when Reepicheep, the swashbuckling mouse, is brought back to life by Lucy. As he gathers himself in front of the mighty lion, Aslan, Reepicheep realizes that he has lost his long tail in battle. This is an embarrassing and awkward movement. The part that moved me took place when the 4 or 5 other mice warriors, followers of Reepicheep, immediately stepped up to offer the sacrifice of their own tails, so the mighty but humbled mouse would not have to be embarrassed alone. Moved by their collective spirt, Aslan restores Reepicheep's tail.
I have heard it said that one is not really a leader if no one is following. May we lead with such passion, courage, and integrity, that those who follow would, be willing to step up and sacrifice that which they hold dear for a great cause.
